That said, using them can give you a head start on unlocking them when the Vanguard arrives - so if you're planning on getting a WWII shooter then this is a good way to start.

When you first load the game from October 12, additional free levels will appear via the Battle Pass.
As you would with the usual Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone rewards - which sit below these additional rewards and are visible by pressing up on the controller's D-pad - you simply need to progress through the Battle Pass to unlock the appropriate weapon.

Once you unlock a weapon, note that it won't work like a traditional weapon unlock. Currently, you can only play the STG 44 and M1 Garand with fixed profiles. This means you cannot change plugins or skins.
However, using this weapon will now earn you Weapon XP, which can be used to upgrade this weapon when the Vanguard arrives.
Additionally, while the weapons are solid streams, these drafts have a higher-than-average number of attachments—seven to 10 each—to match the new cap you'll see when the Vanguard arrives.

To unlock the M1 Garand, you must unlock the following blueprints as part of the Season 6 Battle Pass:
Note that you can't customize these weapons in Gunsmith - instead, you have to play with these fixed designs until the Vanguard fully arrives.

In addition to the weapon blueprints listed above, there are a number of other unlocks that will be carried over to Warzone.
All of these can of course be used immediately in Call of Duty: Black Ops and Warzone - but if you want to save XP tokens for the new version of Call of Duty, then the option is there.
Remember, these are free levels in the Battle Pass - no purchase required - and the free existing levels that debuted with the Battle Pass are still there - you just have to press up on the controller's D-pad to see them.
